KNUT IVAR BØE,

from Vaksvik, has made himself known as an accordionist on Scandinavian recordings, radio and tv-shows over the past 15 years. He works both as a private tutor and as a music school teacher. He is sought after for studio work and seminars, and for judging performances at musical competitions. Knut Ivar has considerable experience from the theatre, from the cabaret scene, from popular music and from church concerts. In addition, he has worked with choirs and marching bands. In later years, music and travelling has been a full time occupation, entailing tours of both the United States and Europe.

He reached a new audience with his first solo release in 1994, Ferdamann ("Traveller"), and the radio frequently plays tracks from this commercially successful album. With Catriona McDonald and later with Tone Fedt, he has toured extensively for the institution Rikskonsertene, and received several awards and prizes for his music.

 

 

   

INGUNN LINGE VALDAL, from Valldal, started playing the fiddle at the age of 9. Her varied folk-music background includes the Hardanger fiddle, dance and singing in the traditional kveding style. She headed a folk music band for several years, and has stood her ground in musical competitions. She was presented in a tv show from the Storfjord area, and is active in the local music life. Ingunn trained as a folk music teacher at the Academy in Rauland, and gives private tuition in addition to her job as a music school teacher. Like Knut Ivar she does free-lance work for the institution Møremusikarane, and as a performing team, they constitute a natural supporting act at concerts, seminars etc.
